Well the UN has announced a formal relief effort and seeing as how we are a member I would assume we would be sending manpower. There are also various other organizations that are supplying relief.

You're right on this one. It's possible that he lost his job, lost his car, has medical bills to pay for, has to take care of a sick family member, had his home looted and was robbed, etc, etc, etc. Believe me, if faced with it I wouldn't be able to pay the deductible on my homeowner's policy out-of-pocket...and I'd hardly go so far as saying I have other issues (other than the need to discuss and explain adult topics with mindless blabbering idiots).
