    Re: Wine

Been a good weekend for wine.

Fri - nice lighter bodied beaujolais (can't remember the name unfortunately)
Sat - '97 penfolds 389 (cab shiraz) full bodied, good amount of rich, ripe fruit, with plenty of oak & tannin on the finish, though lacking the huge amount of complexity the '96 has.
    Sun - '97 & '98 penfolds 389, with the '98 having a bit more complexity.

Anything without Sulfites which for us in the USA is near impossible due to some stupid law I think

Trader Joe's 2007 Sonoma County Reserve Zinfandel is ace.

I've been getting into zinfandel a LOT. I can't figure why anyone would prefer merlot or cabernet over zin.

same for pinot noir. also really wonderful, but rarely hear anyone talk about it...

This was Wine Spectators wine of the year for 2009 and rated 95 points out of 100. It's not bad and a steal at about 30 dollars a bottle.

I picked this up at a local Meijer for 6 or 7 dollars. I'm not that knowledgeable on wine, but have found out I like the Cabernet Sauvignon grape paring.

I am drinking this tonight, not the best choice but I don't have a lot of options in Shanghai.

I generally buy at the EUR 10 mark, but can hit EUR 20 for the right occasion

Never heard of it before... I´ll do my best trying to put my hands on that one but not sure if it´s even available here in Buenos Aires..

If not, i´ll drink some Merlot this weekend though..
