I've been listening to this guy from 03'. And though I love all his sets, his Best of 2003' is still one of my favorites. If you haven't heard this guy, he's def. worth checking out.
Any James Lauer fans here?

Re: Any James Lauer fans here?
I'm also a big fan of his older sets, My personal favourites his XTC radio sessions from 2005. I have to admit that I haven't been as interested in his mixes ever since he started playing minimal. Thanks for the recommendation though I will definately check it out. -
Re: Any James Lauer fans here?
No problem. He used to have all his older sets on his site, now I can't seem to find them. Only his recent sets are avail. to download.
That XTC set is also one of my favs.
Edit: Nevermind found his archive...

Re: Any James Lauer fans here?
thankful ther are other JL fans out there. cheers
he is hands down one of my favorite acts. if not my favorite. i feel ya guys on his drift to the minimalistic approach and how its less appealing. i think hes just adapting to the general flow, and does a fine job at it. u hear his minimal production? quite interesting, and original. imo i like the mnml, micro, tech, and electro he spins. atleast its alot better then what alot of djs think is the right goods in these subgenres. perhaps hes just fortunate to be a Chicago based deejay. lucky bastard.
but i think ther are only a select number of great djs, let alone any out there, who can come close to the underground feel that vibes from his older prog sets..fucking wow. he does have his boring moments, but his transitions are ever seemless.
i still cant get enough of his early (prog)trance, techno, tribal, funky, deep/house, and his darker prog promos. what stands out most i think is his Beat Science sessions. as well as his Diversified Portfolio, Chicago Underground sessions on Proton, Departures, XTC, and Live PAs of course.
so much for being utterly bias and supportive of him, he is gravely underrated. above all, that cat knows his shit on a broad level.
