    Re: Chicago

dreamgirlie. Hope I can help. Just moved to nyc, and movving back to Chicago next month for the winter (don't ask). I used to live on Southport. It's a great street with tons to do and there's alot of shopping/restaurants/bars nearby. Quiet streets and if you can, get something near the Southport brownline stop. There's also Boystown/Halsted that people like, it's closer to the lake and near the redline. Lincoln park if money's no problem. But I'd check into lakeview/wrigleyville area around southport if i were you. let me know if I can help you out further, glad to help. hope to see you at SPundae. will u b there on nov. 13th for sander? i could introduce you to my friends.

    Re: Chicago

I've lived in Chicago for approximately 5 years. You definitely want to live on the north side if you are young and like to go out. I live in Wrigleyville and NEVER have to drive anywhere. There are train stops all over the place in that area as well. Some other areas on the north side are bucktown and lincoln park. Lincoln Park is kind of snobby and is more expensive.

The best source for looking for apartments is:
Chicago's nonprofit newsroom, a weekly in print since 1971. News, Events, Theater, Food, Music. Online and print advertising opportunities

A good zip-code to search on is 60657. That is the Lakeview area, which Wrigleyville is a part of.

Let me know if you would like any more info...

Majority of it is. The underground tunnels are done, they have a lot left to do regarding above ground. plus we have lots of other construction things going on....one of the train lines went underground and now they are dismantling it above gorund, what a mess.

I remember a few years ago visiting a friend in Boston and as we were heading downtown he looked at me from the passenger seat and said, "Two things: one, stay 3 inches from the car in front of you and two, don't look anyone in the eyes." No sooner than I slipped back about a foot from the car in front of me did some jackass merge right into what little space there was between me and the car in front of me. I then had to hear the "I told you so." Isn't the 'Big Dig' complete?

    Re: Chicago

my buddy lives up on the northside by wrigley field. Its a nice neighborhood and theres lots of bars and stuff up there. As far as gettin around, I know one of the trains, redline perhaps, is right in the area. Theres all kinds of shops and lots of everything else up there too. And many people in their 20's live there too I believe. Nice area from what Ive gathered.

    goodluck
