I'm not here to defend her, nor argue that her original support of the bridge was right or wrong; Although it may not have been her idea, she clearly states that she "would not stand in the way" of her congressional delegation (the lobbyists) that were pushing for the development project in Washington. The bridge itself was an eventual embaressment, yet arguably only a part of a larger "infrastructure" development & improvement package.

The point is, the video is one-sided, taken out-of-context, misleading, and factually incomplete... After congress killed the project, she allocated the funds for remaining "infrastructure" projects (there's that big word again, lets all say it together "infrastructure")... Stating that if Alaska wanted a bridge, they would then build it themselves...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it part of every mayors job, to evaluate, approve, & then support "infrastructure" and development projects within their local communities???

Those are the facts, if anyone can prove otherwise, please create a video and put it up on Youtube asap...

Also, if this was such a huge & wasteful bill, then why did both Biden & Obama vote for it ???

Obama and Biden Voted for Bridge to Nowhere

Now that Alaska is front and center in the news again, it is a good time to catch up on a favorite story, The Bridge to Nowhere, using the Washington Post US Congress Votes Database.

Though Gov. Palin originally supported the earmark spending on the Ketchikan bridge (“to nowhere), she eventually killed the project, chosing to spend Federal money on other infrasturcture programs.

However, Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted for funding the Bridge, even when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief.

Sen. McCain did not vote on the Coburn Amendment, though he is on record as opposing the Ketchikan bridge earmark.

    Link to votes record below.

    who is calling you names?
as I stated before, I have no ties to either side.. either way this country is fucked, now more so than ever it just seems to be some power struggle between the two parties, and the egos are being put before the betterment of this country.. this whole campaign is a freaking circus.. and just because i dont like her or care for her ideals does not make me an Obama worshipper, I worship no one, and definitely not some lying politicians..

christ I used to think she was decent looking, now all I ever see is her deer in the headlights looks of bewilderment trying to answer questions that to a VP candidate should be simple.

Is everybody freakin' 12 years old around here? geesh...

Because any jackass with video editing software can dump a clip up on youtube, using bits of video without providing any context, proof, etc. Using random youtube videos from dubious sources as some sort of factual political content, is about as idiotic as taking political advice from matt damon.

Only those with a bias or agenda would continue to spread this crap, and only those with a below average iq would continue to take this stuff as fact...

    To all the Obama worshippers:
Instead of debating the facts on these ridiculous propaganda posts, please just continue questioning my political affiliation, my supposed fascination with Palin, and continue calling me names... It merely shows that you have no factual arguments to offer...

do tell, k3n3, why do you support Palin? (McCain is a whole 'nother question altogether). But Palin? Why do you so vehemently stand up for her? Oh by the way, saying "she's not barack ..ad nauseum" is not an affirmative statement of support. Just to uh...let ya know. So why? I'm dying to know. really.
