well, you can look back to when the charges started, then go back from there a bit and think where you used your card at...if it's a lot of places, sure it's tough, but otherwise, you could kind of figure out how it was possible.
I'm in that semi-boat too; lost my cell phone a few weeks ago, by the time I cancelled it a nice tab had been run up (just got the bill today)...so that's going to be a ball to sort out and get rid of....
real a-holes out there who just don't give a damnLeave a comment:

Re: i am now a member
well this week still sucks.. all those charges havent gone through yet so i cant start paperwork until beginning of next week. & this was a debit card linked to me checking account so i dont think this will affect my credit.. & if it did, it doesnt bother me much being as i just bought a house... but i am gonna pass that by one of the credit check places just for safe measure...
& sometime monday after i canceled my card, they tried to get about 600 worth of shit from a tractor supply place where it was declined.. unfortunately merchants just hand the card back & do nothing with notifying authorities..
& now the bank is jacking me around for the account i share with the wife.. so i gotta straighten them out otherwise my bills wont get paid..
will keep an update as its available..
but form now on, i think im gonna pay cash whenever at a bar / resuraunt, no tabs... just to help minimize my exposure..Leave a comment:

Re: i am now a member
sad thing what happend to you, good thing you"re getting your money back
i heard on tv last week that some guy from romania use to shop in the us with false credit cards and was caught and the billing for him to be trield in freedom was set for 1 million dollars, for fear of getting outside us
this type of fraud is very often these days, even if the online shopping is getting more secureLeave a comment:

be glad you caught it early. its a fucking hassle, i know... but at least it is being corrected. it could have been a lot worse. fucking dallas... i knew there was a reason i didn't want to move there.Leave a comment:

This is only shit I've ever read about happening to some poor sap.... now it rings true in the halls of ms. Not cool. I'm pretty lax at throwing my numbers around, leaving my card in machines, not closing my tabs and leaving the card at the bar...etc. I should really be more careful.
I hope you get your shit straight man. One can only imagine how long you have spent "on hold" trying to contact all those fucking companies.
What would you say to those people, face to face, that stole your digits?Leave a comment:

be careful about your credit rating man...shit like this can fuck up a person's credit for YEARS. make sure you check with a credit bureau after the smoke has cleared to see that your credit reflects what it should.
hope they catch the bastards...Leave a comment:

That sucks the big one. Good looking out, catching it before it got too big. Could you imagine the people who get mortgages taken out in thier names with out knowing? That's some crazy shit.Leave a comment:
