If McCain wins, then some of us will stew about it for a while and then get back to our daily lives. The end.mixes: www.waxdj.com/miroslavComment

If you believe in freedom then you wouldn't be living in Canada now would you? Especially since socialism promotes an egalitarian society. Many people would sooner die than think; In fact, they do so.

Re: What if McCain actually wins??
It's ok, we're ashamed to have people give up so readily in the states and in a country that still offers far more freedom, both economically and socially, than many other countries in the world. And in case you haven't noticed, there are stupid people everywhere. But hey, maybe you're suffering from an identity crisis and perhaps it's just that you want to feel and breathe like a European?
I like being American though. Even though my heritage is East Indian, I am American and I am proud of that. I went to good schools, met great people, and experienced a hell of a lot. I have an appreciation for the subtleties of our Constitution and what the forefathers tried to lay out for this country. I appreciate that over the past 200 some odd years our country has ebbed and peaked with time and that we broke down barriers to reach goals. I appreciate that we evolved a significant magnitude of economic prosperity and freedom that other countries would jizz in their eye for. Many people would sooner die than think; In fact, they do so.

Re: What if McCain actually wins??
well, Canada does possess a more free economic system than the United States right now (according to Cato Institute). I know he did not contemplate this when he made that remarks so he can't claim it as a substantive cause for making such comments, but, just wanted to let you know...you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky

That is interesting, however, here's another source that indicates otherwise.well, Canada does possess a more free economic system than the United States right now (according to Cato Institute). Re: What if McCain actually wins??
^ hm, okay, but a libertarian think tank that is focesed on economic freedom, I think, trumps that.
Even still, to suggest that canada, a country that has long been pointed to by conservative commentators as to the effects of socialism, to even be equal to the united states on economic liberty, is astounding.you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky

Re: What if McCain actually wins??
Understandable, however I don't at all think it trumps the world economic forum. Besides, Cato and the like (Mises) seem to find anything going against the grain of the Constitution as socialist. Certainly the bailout is a socialist approach, but I don't think we are equal to Canada in economics, not at all. Perhaps in the future we might, but we still have years to go to see it unfold if it does happen. Anyway you can have the last word and I'll agree to disagree.^ hm, okay, but a libertarian think tank that is focesed on economic freedom, I think, trumps that.
