I dunno, maybe he just meant to capitalize on the news about that chimp to make a point about the stimulus being stupid...which would still be insensitive but not racist.

thats not how I see that comic strip, they shot the chimp and make the statement of finding "someone else" i.e. person. doesn't get more direct than that.

One thing that has been pointed out is that Obama didn't actually write the stimulus bill; he delegated it to people like Nancy Pelosi. But regardless, it clearly was a very stupid idea to publish this as the opportunity for racist interpretation is just way too much of a liability.

I have to say when I saw it - I never considered the potential racial connection - only the connection to an infinite number of monkeys and typewriters writing Shakespeare.
