yeah, dr seuss is a given, but my fave series of books when i was a child and still today are The Chronicles of Narnia

i've been meaning to go back and read them in the order lewis intended instead of the order the collection is in. these are definately at the top of my list along with ' where the wild things are ' and ' the giving tree '

I very recently saw the movie based on the life of Beatrix Potter.. certainly appreciate her books so much more now
