Having two young sons of my own now, this question has new implications and has made me rethink my feelings towards some classics. The giving tree is one such book as reading it now, I realize that the tree just kept on giving and giving and the boy kept taking and taking without being appreciative of what he got nor giving anything in return...not quite the message that I aim for with my children.

The nastolgia of seeing the book cover from Where the Wild Things Are in the Movies Section really took me back...Rather than highjack a movie thread I'm starting this one, remember these books from when we were kids? Add to the list...

I remember seeing these in my dr.'s office waiting room while waiting for my checkups...so funny to remember.
