Mo probably hates it more than I do (I think it's OK but that's probably because my prevailing memory is a fantastic night of Sasha and Digweed), but it's the kind of place where Lamborghinis and Maseratis roll up outside and ponces with cigars and babes with fake boobs and personalities buy $20 watered down rum and cokes and everything is a bit too plush

adding to this only few ppl r out there for the music....most of them r out there to flash thier money around fake booked birds.

The vibe is not what i look for in a night out.

I quite liked Alpha (where Phil Kieran was playing last week), small, intimate, decent sound system, not part of a 'major' hotel.....yeah I think what harms Sanctuary a little bit is the fact that it's part of the Atlantis....in case the other guys don't know, practically all nightclubs here are part of a (usually) 5-star hotel.....none of that manouevring into alleys and walking into side streets, queueing up and freezing your ass off outdoors with the bass booming through the walls kinda thing which I sorely miss (note to Canadians-Footwork is a perfect example )

Depending on where you live in the world, Zab can be caught once or twice a year, 16 Bit, would be my route on this one.

Just go and head to the front of the dancefloor and enjoy the music, forget about those fellas.

I saw the 16 Bit Lolitas this summer on a outdoor event, but I think you have to be lucky that they're in a good mood and that they're playing at the wright event, and that day I was not. They played some nice tunes, but damn what a attitude. Adriaan was mixing like a pack of sugar and the other guy was hanging on the decor. It looked like they were both on drugs or something, no energie at all. I really like most of their sets I listen too, but I guess that they need a dark and dirty room for their kind of progressive.

I think if I was you I would tried the 16BL. Maybe you aren't lucky like I was, but if they're in the mood and you're in the wright place you will have a very great night. James Zabiela plays well, but it's not really my type of music.

Ok, finaly and in the end i made a decsion to go and see 16BL.
The club as usual was shit and with every thing me and vish mentiond above.
16BL were only 1 member but i am not sure who he was ( i got pics maybe some1 can tell us) he came one at 12:30 and the dance floor was empty then it was picking up around 1:00 am.
He played some really nice prog, building up in the first 30 min then kicking base for the next hr.actually 1:30 mark he started taken a darker sound and you can tell the next hr will be banging !! some of the tunez he played...persuader and daytona i can not remember the rest, had to leave at 2:00 am but he was still going strong.
I guess if i saw them/him in any other club i would had enjoyed it more.

I didnt go to neither, both great DJ's, I was going to see 16 Bit but the venue is shit, I was having to much fun with option c) SCOPE at 360!!! amazing night !

A colleague of mine gave me the lowdown on Zabiela's set that night, says his performance was a technical masterclass with a lot of scratching and fx (no surprise really), including instant effect creation of the MC's voiceovers, the most interesting thing is that he came on at 1 and played till (believe it or not Mo) 4, which is completely uncharacteristic in Dubai.......also interesting to see (not that I care, but the same trance-loving colleague tells me) that Armin will play till 5 am on New Year's Day......is Dubai thinking of novel ways to recoup their debt?

On the radar here for the next few weeks: Silicone Soul (well, at least one of the guys, which I'm gutted to be missing, I saw them play a stormer at the Balaton Sound festival in Hungary), Scarlett Etienne, Pete Tong, Dave Seaman etc.
