Watched a docu on google that talked about this, which is the platform for eventually launching google street picture search. Idea is that you could take your iphone, take a pic of something and hit search and google would tell you all about what you just took a pitcure of and where you're standing. "Hmm, what is this?" snap a pic, google tells you.

They already have that with Google Goggles, which is on all new Android phones. I took a picture of Todd's mixer and Google told me make/model/version of it. Making a street view version would probably be much quicker/more reliable, since they would only have to search through landmarks instead of everything

Reminds me of Microsoft's photosynthesis. Pretty cool nonetheless though!
