I could write some code that could tag some older threads if their thread titles contain any of our artist names. I'm just not sure it's needed, yet, since I only have a 10-set history in the artist profiles right now and many artists have some type of history already.

Not sure but if you search for Matthew Dekay or whoever it should give you the threads that relate to him directly or threads that mention his name.

There may be a more simple way but the technical guys of [ms] will be able to tell you or just have a look through the older threads and tag them yourself.

No probs mate. If there is info about a dj that produces a quality mix then ill add a profile.

Could be another good way for a new comer to get their name noticed.

I would personally only create a profile for some i feel deserves it for their technical knowledge and ability.

But i would only post a mix i feel needs to be shared rather than just posting for the sake of it.

What i would say though is that there may be some great music/sets out there by some unknown artists that may be a one off but do we make a profile for that mix or not??

Sometimes there might be a superb mix by a dj that isnt a big name but some folk that post up the sets might think that others will enjoy it.

    Just a thought???

Very useful, people should finally understand the purpose of this and contribute more actively to ms.

Same names from podcasts are really obscure, to be honest, or at least lacking a proper info source.

Will make it a bit easier to know who still needs to be added to the database then.

I just finishing something that I've wanted for months now. I tried this months ago and wasn't competent enough in vBulletin integration, but three hours after a second attempt today I was finally able to do it!

Those who have access to tag all threads should now see a headphone icon in the forum view next to any thread that is tagged in the DJ Database. This paves the way to us helping keep our content as fresh is possible, so if you see a thread in P&R that doesn't have an icon next to it, please jump in and tag it if the artist exists!

I didn't want to turn this on for everyone for sake of the forum's response time, plus I figure knowing whether a thread is tagged or not probably doesn't matter to you!

Top right. It toggles (randomly I think) between 'Newest Artist Submissions', 'Top Contributing Members', and 'Most Subscribed Artists' on each page load.
