Getting to Governors Island on a New York Water Taxi is just a quick, 4-minute boat ride, and the boats are only a few steps from nearby subway and bus stops. We have added a huge number of boats to service the Island.

Ferries leave every ten minutes from Pier 11 in Lower Manhattan at the corner of South Street & Wall Street (approximately 4 blocks south of the South Street Seaport).

The nearest subway stops:

- 2,3,4,5 – Wall Street Station
- J,M,Z to Broad Street Station

To accommodate all our guests with as many ferries as possible - leaving every 10 minutes all night - the departure point for Governor's Island has moved a few blocks away.

We are leaving from the Battery Maritime Building - located at 10 South St next to the Staten Island Ferry - just 3 block north. We are NOT leaving... from Pier 11, though it's a short walking distance away.

The Battery Maritime Building is accessible by subway using the 1 to South Ferry station, the 4 or 5 to Bowling Green, or the W/R to Whitehall St. Station.
