Just 3 I think, Northern Exposure 1 (North and South), Northern Exposure 2 (East Coast and West Coast), and Northern Exposure Expeditions.

Definitely some of my favorite mixes, they're all fantastic.

<3'd Communicate.. my first DJ Compilation I purchased after the Hackers soundtrack... didn't really like it at the time, shelved it, then came back to it years later.. still one of my favorite Compilations.

UK and Australia was a 2 disc release (1996), whereas the US was a single disc release i.e. North disc only (1997)

ah. well, listened to South last night and while it's phenomenal it's not even close to how awesome North is.

probably the weakest of the north/south/east/west series.

The first time I listened to North was on a Greek beach. Magic. Last Train to Lhasa is stunning.

Actually, I've always wondered how mixes from that era were put together. There wasn't any sync buttons back then and digital audio was pretty rudimentary.

Were they doing the DJ mix off tape into a mixing board? Not that a good engineer couldn't work it over pretty well, but it just doesn't sound like a vinyl mix recording...
