No, the Windows executable (that includes Python) works just fine.
It's easy to use, and by default it downloads the highest available quality video and/or audio.

I have renamed youtube-dl to dl
easier to use this way.

What you need is this:

https://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/

Then open a command prompt and type this:
youtube-dl https://soundcloud.com/kevindiserna/...-metropolitano
And as the name suggests, it works for youtube video's too.

I use hulkshare, it's just as good as soundcloud was.
