Oh CDJ my dear friend, John is merely referring to the book of Revelations which he wrote and the prophecies contained in it. There is no referrence to the instructions given to worship God.

Now, you quote Acts 2:38 and jump directly to 47. You say that the only way to be called Christian is to repent, be baptized, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Well, between those two verses there are others which say that you should attend services, assist in the breaking of bread, sell your possesions and goods, and attend the temple.

The scriptures which you reffer to in Ephesians is taken out of context. Ephesians 5 is advice given by the Lord to the Saints and families. It does not talk about church services. The Bible also does not state that you shouldn't use instruments in religious services.

My next point is: Which is the TRUE Church of Jesus Christ?

I also want to point out that the reason I made the creation thread (which started all this) was for a good discussion. If someone chooses to follow up with learning more about the bible and God then I am up for it.

Many of you know me from the very early months of this forums birth. (like 4-6 months after it started) and I have said and done some things that are very very un-Christian. I can think of a couple of stories that I wrote that were evidence of my sinful living. I was raised by parents who were Christains but had some ways about them that were classified as un-Godly living according to scripture. That caused me to not take the Word as serious as I should have. But as I have grown older I decided to give the Bible a good hard scrutinizing. As a result I have grown in knowledge in leaps and bounds.

As a result of that I am now remarried to my wife after 12 years of off and on very rocky and unstable relationship. Some of you may remember over a year ago in a post I made that things were at an all time low. We just remarried 3 weeks ago and I can say without a doubt that we are happier than we were when we first met and things will be OK. I have a 16 month old son that some of you may remember when I posted his birth. I can say that none of this would have been possible without God being my guide.

To make a long story short I am posting things like the creation thread and this thread because I know what power is in God and the Holy Scripture. I want tp provoke thought in people that normally would not think on such things.

Think back to the posts I have made in the last few weeks and you will see that I have not been a "holy roller" or tried to puch anything on anyone. All my post have been thought provoking and informative.

I enjoy a good discussion. To think that I was going to leave this forum last week as I could not find a good discussion.

^ there are a lot of fallacies in his post. im starting with one. i dont want to bible bash but i know my scriptures very very well and his post is a prime example of taking things out of context. which is very predominant amongst most churches

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.


so in following this verse one understands that if you are given a set if instructions to follow in worshiping God if you deviate from them in any fashion you are now adding to or taking away from that which you were told to do or not to do

Does this also mean that you do not approve of the use of intruments as is common in for example, Africa? Over there a service is usually a big celebration with drums 'n stuff, pretty cool music too if I may say so...

Yao if the africans you speak of are worshiping the God of the Bible then according to scripture they are not doing it as God has asked. It does not apply if they are worshiping gods similar to the Greeks worship of gods. that is a whole different story

I also think it is imperitive to understand that God does not disapprove of music. It is just not authorized to use in worshiping Him.
