Doesn't even have my house on there. Obviously they're using Google Earth which hasn't updated in well over a year since none of the surrounding homes are shown either.

is the site supposed to have agood reputation?

is seems they have overvalued some condo's in my area - and havent updated there records for when things units were sold.

I wonder how they make their 'zestimate'?

hmmm... says my house is worth more than any other house on the street... direct neighbors on either side of me range between $40k and 70k less than mine

nice site. although it doesnt have my house, it has got every one of my neighbors. & it seems to be about 5-15k lower than market.

I'm actually selling my house right now, and zillow has my house valued at almost the exact price I listed it at (after tweaking it for improvements) before I'd even heard of zillow. I've heard that its accuracy is very much dependent upon where you are, though -- some areas are spot on, others are way, way off.

There are a few other real-estate valuation services that are more accurate. My old house was appraised for 185K (in utah) and zillow says its worth 800K!

try Ditech or Bank of America (they use a similar service from FirstAm)... or domania.com

I built my house three years ago and it says that they couldn't find it. But it does have a listing for $217,000 for the houses on my block. So I think they need to update the db...

beat that. but my neighbor does. and he is the county sheriff. how a civil servant does that i dunno. and it has our backyards valued as much as our houses.... weird.

when it comes to condo's they add the one time value to the estimated 5-10 yr income range if rented.

Interesting! Thanks for posting it has some of the counties I service in Indiana and Wisconsin. This could be a good tool for me to use before ordering appraisals.
