1984 - Orwell - just changed me because it fueled my interest in politics and my distaste of authority. Always inspires me when I hear idiots saying 'you can't change the system etc'

The Catcher in The Rye - J D Salinger - changed me because it made me smile during a hard time in my life. Holden Caulfield is my hero.

There are loads of non-fiction books about politics and genocide that just changed me because they taught me that the media isn't the only viewpoint.

Written in German I have the translated works by Stephen Mitchell. Truly remarkable poetry. Mind engrossing stuff.

Well almost every book I read during my study at the university changed me a little – my study included anthropology, sociology, philosophy, psychology – although anthropological books can really mess up your point of view so I deliberately ignored some facts couse its quite impossible to lead a normal life if you try to comprise those fact into your way of thinking – and since then I can understand why almost all anthropologists are nuts!
