hmmm imo that minimal sound has ruined all the djs that i used to love to death.

what turns people on to these sounds....some kind of substance must be needed because i sure cant figure it out sober.

this is not electro music (far from it). he just starts with some deep weird house music (which passes as mnml these days). as far as missing the boat? this guy has been playing fucked up house music since he was in diapers. warming up for s+d in the twilo days, this guy made a living on this music. i think in this mix he is just providing something to chill and listen to (why i love it). and if you check him out live you will get the agressive jimmy.

and some of you, do not like the weird slower house music (dont like calling it mnml)... which is fine. but i hardly seeing him changing his style or missing the boat.

Jimmy doesn't play to much (well not much lol) of the minimal stuff out in the clubs... Saw him play last week and he was Banging out some crazy tune.. Relentless shit!! and ooohhh the breakdowns and build ups

^^def still want to check this mix and the balance cd out, i still like jvm, will see how they go. i am so so about fortiers balance cd, there are some great tracks on there, some of it was blah. i should listen to it again though, it has been a few months...

Lisle has gone that route, so has Fortier (minimal, that is), but I think they've managed to get their own sound going. In the case of JVM (from this mix), it just feel like too little too late. IMO anyway. Will wait to check out the Balance mix

I'm just getting tired of all the progressive dj's turning minimal. To me most minimal is crap. There is still good stuff but the lot of it to me sounds like electronic listening music. Not dancing music.

Give me some naughty basslines with some sick melodies over top and I'm flyin!

^^thats too bad, i like jim's mix a lot. the first 40 mins are soooo seamless. amazing mixing going on. the tunes flow so well together.

yes i agree chloe. towards the end he loses me, but the majority of the mix i think is lovely. i trash most of the kiss mixes that run thru here... so i guess thats where i differ to each his own

first try i got the sets like that

jimmy set is really good can't wait to see him in dec
