I don't think he's a racist whatsoever. Just bad choice of words trying to come up with some heckling material.

He's a lousy comedien and a lousy heckler. If you want proof look for some of his standup routines on youtube. They really are bad.

If he was racist it would have come out sooner than almost 3 decades in to his career (or maybe more, I'm only familiar with stuff by him from up to 1980).

I don't think he would use it as "common language". Therefore, I don't consider him a racist because of one word. If he used it all the time (which he might for all we know) then yes, he is racist... because it is being used to disparage that race. But, I think he just fucked up big time. But that's all it is, a fuck up.

he is probably just sick of people not totally "respecting" him, probably like the respect he sees jerry get when he tours and even talks about touring. everyone worships the ground seinfeld walks on, but since richards wasnt the star of the show people dont care about him as much. so he is touring smaller clubs and not making as much dough and people are fucking with him since they know he is a bit second rate. kind of like everyones scapegoat Screech.

he is getting tired of that crap, and today it just happened to be some black guys talking shit to him, so he tried to say the meanest shit he could to them to hurt em as he is pretty pissed off at being second banana all these years to everyone else on the show

^^ I don't think you can really compare this episode to what black comedians do. I just say the video, and Chris Rock never did THAT There's all the difference in the world between what they do and what Richards did.

I really have to wonder what kind of issues Richards may have...maybe he's an addict and was on some kinds of drugs when he took to the stage...or some seriously unbalanced psychological problems...
