Re: I would just like to say....
tatatata, what about fries, partying skills and drug prices? You're right about the fact that it's Lambic, but you're dead wrong about the hops. Lambic is a beer which contains at least 30% wheat and has undergone natural fermentation with with wild yeast (Brettanomyces species).
As for the Hoegaarden: it's a great beer to drink on a hot humid summer night, mmmm freshhhhhhhh!
Ah beer, the only reason not to be ashamed to be a Belgian

Re: I would just like to say....
it's belgian. It's a lambic type of beer which means that it is slightly sacred, the hops aren't harvested the same way regular beer is.
and why is it so wrong to wanna drink something that has been around longer than Budweiser.Leave a comment:

Re: I would just like to say....
Wouldn't mind giving that a go :O
Sounds like a nice concept.
jeffrey collins - I'm interested in that Lindemans drop you're talking about. I've never heard of it. I'm assuming it's the Australian winery Lindemans?
There's a Belgian Kriek (cherry infused beer) made by Belle-Vue that I absolutely love. I'm usually not one for fruit beers, but this is done so well that the rich cherry taste suits it so well it's not funny. They also make a Framboise which might be worth checking out jeff (I've never tried it though).Leave a comment:

Re: I would just like to say....
... nothing like a beer thread with people putting in limes and oranges to make it taste better. people, if you have to put fruit in a beer to make it taste better then you have some issues.
^^ nice choice sean... although i prefer mackeson to young's.Leave a comment:

There're a lot worse beers out there than Hoegaarden, and Hoegaarden is actually one of the more palatable ones.Leave a comment:

Re: I would just like to say....
anyone ever tried Lindemans? I absolutely love their frambois beer. It's like a mix of wine and beer with a beautiful raspberry taste. Around $6 a bottle in Columbus...unless you find it at a club, then it's $8.Leave a comment:

Ok, maybe it is I don't like that style of beer... It did do a good job on the buzz though! I forgot I even started this thread!Leave a comment:

Re: I would just like to say....
depends on your flavor. i could see how people might hate that beer. i think its pretty damn good, but only with an orange or a lime.Leave a comment:

Re: I would just like to say....
I drink it all the the time, it beats most of the blonde beers around by a mile. Anyone saying Hoegaarden sucks must never engage in a beer discussion with me

Re: I would just like to say....
Hoegaarden is a good beer. It makes a nice change for maybe the first few beers of the night, dont think i could drink it all night thoughLeave a comment:
