Jibgolly (RIP) was 99% confident that this set was at The Rub Tampa because he swore that he was at the event where the exact recording occurred. i believe it was him who renamed it to The Rub Tampa, and also who had the 320 version.

since no flyer was ever produced (or dug up anyway) for either venue, his word was all we had to go on... hence why it has two names.

personally, i do not know. i was friends with Jibgolly so I took his word for it. also, as was previously discussed in this thread, a simple Google search will come up with 0 results for any club called Greenboro or event called Babylon in New York.. always comes up North Carolina. that simple mismatch made me believe Jibgolly over the Babylon location.

one of my favorite Sasha sets too... first 90 minutes to 2-hours are just amazing.

Actually there is a Plaskman set from Babylon as well. When this set was labeled The Rub it was also dated 2000, which it clearly wasn't. Also when it was labeled as The Rub, there were only two parts to it (the first two).

its a mystery, lol.... his greatest set ever played and no one really knows where it all went down.....


i do agree the date is definitely correct...if i had to guess it was some one-off party in Greensboro,North Carolina, that wasnt unheard of at the time in the states. still isnt, but in a smaller city like Greensboro it is nowadays, but not back in 1999...and its on the east coast between Florida and NYC. it could have been a regular club night, but no one has mentioned remembering the place, so i assume it was a one time thing...aka a "rave"
