Re: I'm quitting....
I quit almost 2 years ago and have smoked maybe 2 or 3 times in the interim, importantly I have NO desire for it.
I got tired of it running my life- managing my supply, getting more, paying for it, transporting it, using it- I wasn't using weed, it was using me.
I realized that I had been smoking for my entire adult life and for more of my life than not. Once I saw this fact, I became enthralled with the prospect of a new way of life, a "sober" me basically for the first time ever. And the best part is that rather than requiring effort to attain this, it was actually the easier choice.
Since quitting I have been on the road to getting my shit together and I don't miss weed for even a second. I do the same shit I did before, but without spending $20, $60, $120 to do it, and I remember it the next day. It may sound corny, but it's also great to actually feel things again... what I mean is I get excited about things other than smoking, it may be stupid shit that is important to me only, but now I actually care, rather than having that fuzzy layer of liftedness in between me and every experience.
Like I said, I have smoked a handful of times since I quit. Those occasions were both enjoyable, and at the same time reminded me of why I quit in the first place.
Do it, don't think twice, and welcome to the rest of your life.

Re: I'm quitting....
I didn?t know that, nice info. I just noticed the smell of the smoke, and went to the web page to read about them: there you can find "no tobacco - no chemicals - no problems"... I just post it as an alternative... btw I don?t smoke cigarettes, and I don?t have a smoking habbit, I fight against itLeave a comment:

Re: I'm quitting....
That's not entirely accurate. Beedies have tobacco in them, however instead of being rolled in a kind of paper (like cigarettes are), they are rolled in a Betel Leaf (iirc). The difference between Ciggies abd Beedies is that Beedies will give you (mouth) cancer a lot faster/sooner than cigarettes will because of the harmful deposits (from the burning leaf) on your lips and surrounding region of the mouth (Beedies have no filters so now these chemicals are slightly heated while being deposited into your mouth, which I imagine isn't really an ideal situation).a friend of mine that some yaers ago decided to stop smoking cigarettes, started smoking instead a herbal cigar called Beedies, they are from india, made of herbs rolled in a tea leaf. Of course, this has no side effect, it?s not a drug, it?s just for quit to tobacco or pot, but not the habit of smoking. They taste very good! let me see if I get you the link....
They do taste very different and are a decent flavored alternative

i smoked these a loooooooong time ago. don't be fooled that these are an acceptable alternative. they are just as bad, if not worse for you, than cigs.Leave a comment:

Re: I'm quitting....
Good for you. I have a friend that tries to quit every other year, but only lasts's about a month. He's a breakfast, lunch, dinner pot head guy.
I dont think I'll every quit, but the good thing is I dont smoke much. I mean I dont purchase the stuff. Im one of those friends that just bums it off when it's around, and lucky me, it's around plenty. haha
but really, currently I havent's smoked in about 2 weeks, before that, maybe another 2 weeks, so in moderation, it's not bad.
ONly time I will actually buy it, is when Digweed is in town. I must have me some for that, or a really fucking cool movie.. which there hasnt been any
good luck to ya.Leave a comment:

Re: I'm quitting....
I quit over 8 years ago and agree with the majority of what this thread has to say. I have had too many friends that I watched pot pretty much control there day to day lives which turns into months, years, etc. Alot of it is mental, you'll need a support group of people who have been there and no longer are imo. so you will receive plenty of positive reinforcement. Also make sure to give yourself plenty of positive reinforcement like people have been suggesting. Perhaps schedule a reward system, or even volunteer at some point to help others this will reinforce a lot of things, plus its the opposite of selfishness which I know heavy pot smokers develop a great deal of. Keep us posted, one foot in front of the next...Leave a comment:
