Anyway his work on the origin of languages is also really interesting. I can't remember the name of the book but I started reading it like 4 years ago...to be honest I was too young to get into that stuff back then. I wouldn't mind reading it now though...will have to look that up.

Yeah its good. Have you read Manufacturing Consent or Necessary Illusions, also by Chomsky? Necessary Illusions spends a long time on the topic of Israel and the Arab/Israeli conflict so that mind be interesting to you...I think I remember you kinda being interested in that?

Anyway glad you liked the book, Chomsky is very good at analyzing things I just don't like some of the stuff he proposes as potential solutions.

No i did n ot read any of the above book for Chomsky, but i did read faild States and what we say goes, also saw couple of interviews for him, really admir the guy.

I did read couple of books on Arab/Israeli conflict most of them for Mohamed Hasanin Hikal.
But i kinda know the conflict inside out now, being living very close most of my life.

I also know it will not be solve any time soon if it's ever to be solved !

if you want to know more read "hegemony or survival" by Noam chomsky its not big and its an easy read good introduction...a kind of an eye opener to US foreign policy if you will.

I can't believe that anyone actually thinks this about any career politician.

Realistically the best that you can hope for is that he will erase what Bush has done...we will see if I am right with the Health care reforms...actually we don't have to wait at all, in his election promise he said health care reforms so that every American can afford to go to hospital... now go to cnn.com and read what the actual reforms will be. The only way that health care reforms can be introduced is with some permanent changes...all he has done and plans on doing are temporary measures to help during the recession. Its all bullshit, same old same old...even if he wanted change he is one man against a system that is inherently inefficient and undemocratic. Too much money has been invested to make the US system the way it is for any single man to change it.

100% agree, It's sad that mostly ppl outside the US can see the truth about the system there.

I find it funny that I am the nut here when I am right 80% of the time. The only thing that I have been wrong about was Israel invading Iran if Obama was elected. Other than that I have been spot on.

The armed forces is work, and comprised of highly intelligent highly skilled individuals voluntarily give up any sense of normalcy each and every day to unselfishly defend the values of their country, America. One of the primary reasons is because American's understand the important of service, whether it be payed and voluntary. In the future if you want people to take you seriously Runningman my suggestion would be that you provide some back story about yourself before unfavorable assumptions continue to be made by us Americans.

I see what you're getting at with the whole "Socialism" and "working for free" bit, but what you said was that "volunteering is un-American" - which is really an ignorant statement. So instead of insulting us, maybe you should educate yourself about the reality that over a quarter of people who live in America volunteered at some point last year. Why don't you go tell all of them that they're not real Americans?

About 61.8 million people, or 26.4 percent of the population, volunteered through or for an organization at least once between September 2007 and September 2008... Both the level and rate of volunteering were essentially unchanged from the prior year.
