Are there any 1970's Science Fiction TV buff's here

Does anyone remember a 1970's Science fiction US TV series about Mars. I always thought it was called M.A.R.S but have not been able to find any info on it at all. I remember the first episode was about a Space Crew landing on Mars for the first time and suffering from all sorts of Hallucinations and strange dreams. Then as the series progressed the planet became more and more inhabitanted by humans. From what I can remember it was a fairly dark series and the episodes where quite long. Does anyone remember this series?
