Remember back in ’50s and early ’60s, when we set off something like 900 atomic bombs in Nevada? And how we just let the fallout blow wherever and it landed all over the eastern US? Thats why they are scrambling to keep water on the rods for now until the power infrastructure is hopefully restored.

Yes but just because you get the power back on doesn't mean the cooling system will work

The generators probably failed from those massive explosions. That is why I wasn't very optimistic about them trying to get the power back on.

The generators failed in the tsunami, hence the loss of cooling. If the generators hadn't failed there wouldn't have been any explosions or any need to drop coolant from the air

why are you rolling your eyes? The situation is fucked. They need to start doing more. You can't let massive amounts of radiation out.

Did you watch that Chernobyl Doc yet? It took thousands of men and several months to contain

I think they have to stop this little band aid of trying to cool the reactors and get more aggressive with what they did in Chernobyl. Fill it with sand and figure out how to enclose the whole plant with some sort of a dome to prevent radiation from leaking out.
