as a kid i did this many times.... we stood cans on the ground and stamped on the can..... it completely fell in on itself leaving nothing but a circular flat can.. we used to kick them around the school yard

The word squeeze, by definition, means simultaneous pressure from more than one side. If you can uniformly squash your tin with one finger then i'll accept your theory
