Anyone can suggest a prog for cuttin' up MP3 files using .cue sheets? I've tried several, but they won't decode the .cue sheets that I make. The only one that works is Nero, but I can only burn it on a disk threafter, and can't really save the decoded tracks anywhere. :?

why would you want to slice up the MP3 for your hard drive? You can't play it back without getting some gaps or skips in-between tracks...unless you're cutting up an album that was encoded as a single track.FM

It's for my MP3 player - I have an old Nomad Jukebox that takes forever to skip through a set (your original guess was right). Don't feel like burning everything on CD and then re-ripping it, t'sall.Originally posted by FMwhy would you want to slice up the MP3 for your hard drive? I tried the Splitter and Joiner, but it doesn't recognise my .cue files for some reason (for example, MS .cue sheets that I cut/paste into notepad and then change file extension from .txt to .cue, this program will not recognize).Originally posted by beto

Funny thing, the other two are freeware and work perfectly...Comment

I have it, and it doesn't. You have to specify the endpoints manually. But it does a terrific job just splitting things up for e-mail/upload purposes, 'cause they can be easily joined together.Originally posted by betoHJSplit? But it doesn't accept .cue files does it?
Musicutter did everything I intended to do. It has a very simple, intuitive interface, and seems easier to use than others. Mad props!

Re:: MP3 splitter programs
i take the following steps
1. convert the mp3 to wav with 'easy mp3 to wav decoder'
2. split the wav file with 'cdwav'
3. burn wav to cd with 'nero'
takes a lot of space but works well. is there an easier way to do with without adding quiet or blank spots between tracks?Comment
