Playa del Carmen, Mexico

ey all, just booked a getaway with the girlfriend to Playa del Carmen for next month. Any of you guys ever been there and if so, any bar/club/lounge recommendations for decent tunage?

i've done a fair bit of research and know of a few places that sound like they have potential (deseo, moon bar, etc), but i thought i'd check here with the musically like-minded too.

Not sure about the clubs, but stopped in Playa del Carmen while in Cozumel and thought Playa del carmen was really nice. Had a good time at the beach. Beautiful water. Have fun.

I was there about a year ago. Its a great place to party. just walk around main street and you'll find a bunch of places to go. I used to always stop by Fly Bar and then go up to Deseo and then sometimes go to Om.

Stop by Las Mamitas, its the public beach where a lot of people go and theres a DJ on the beach that spins some good house.

nice, thanks for the recommendations guys. just hoping to squeeze in a little craziness into an otherwise week of sun and relaxation. should be a good time.

youl will find a bunch of places to go out, Deseo is an excellent option, but ill recomend visit "mamitas" (a beach of the place), then locate a little bar with a small dj boot, regular music, but you will satisfy your eye for all the day.

had a blast!

beginning the nights @ Deseo
hopping back & forth from La Santanera, Moon, Om, Blue Parrot, etc
recovering @ Mamita's

I was very impressed with the dj's in general at the above places. Best music scene I've encountered in Mexico. Highly recommended.
