[ms] Soundcloud page HAS BEEN erased by Sony

[sbando]

2 "strikes" in 5 days, it's almost over.

If Kamal wants he can dispute SC's claims.

Soundcloud = nevermore. I'll post transitions (stream and d/l) , every friday morning, on FileFactory.

Re: [ms] Soundcloud page is about to be erased by Sony

There is no point in using soundcloud anymore. I was going to get a premium account when my file factory expired, but there is no point in putting in the time and effort.

I gave up on soundcloud a good while ago, glad i never gave them any money.

How much is it for the full premium?

Re: [ms] Soundcloud page is about to be erased by Sony

Damn man, so sorry to hear that, especially with the recent efforts to move MS mixes up there. Pitfalls of these cloud services, always at their mercy. Are there other streaming/download options? I don't think Mixcloud allow downloads.

Any of these?

Six alternatives to SoundCloud for hosting DJ mixes

Hearthis.at sounds like it allows downloads AND can directly import music from Soundcloud. Ought to make the transition easy.

A commenter mentioned House-mixes.com:

I'm a little disappointed in the lack of Free House Music, DJ Mixes & Tracks - Upload & Download House Music & DJ Mixes in this article, the format is really close to soundcloud, with more features, and I have never had a mix removed. They have an extremely active listening base, and it isn't flooded with the big names that completely over shadow the average DJ. Your pages are customizable, as well as a ton of other features that have always made me prefer it soundcloud, but i've always saw soundcloud as a platform for tracks not mixes.

SC no more, just hosters and Ht.

Re: [ms] Soundcloud page is about to be erased by Sony

I have tons of space on the server, we also had MCast (RIP) which was able to stream tracks just like SC was doing, I can work at reviving that if people are interested.

Re: [ms] Soundcloud page is about to be erased by Sony

^good question. There are 6-7 members browsing P&R, people don't even search for file in there anymore. Apart from GYY, the rest can fuck off and die.

You SC people are despicable cowards, pissing on somebody else's hard work.

Once Sony has bought you out and kicked you back onto the curb you come from, you'll be back to your parents' garage, where you belong

Re: [ms] Soundcloud page is about to be erased by Sony

Ok I got an alternative podcasting player installed, unfortunately the mixes are missing and so the player doesn't work. Does anyone on here a copy of the mixes, I'm happy to upload them.

Otherwise, I can give you FTP access to a mixes folder and we can upload mixes again and make posts.

just like the old days

hearthis.at is a good alternative for soundcloud just now ( well until someone offers then a shitload of money for their service and they sell out like soundcloud )

What mixes, K?

Re: [ms] Soundcloud page is about to be erased by Sony

ah that sucks, sorry sbando

Re: [ms] Soundcloud page is about to be erased by Sony

What mixes, K?

The ones that MCast resident DJs used to post. The cunts who hacked / wiped out the entire MCast folder deleted all the mixes and I am kicking myself for the fact we don't have a backup. So if someone has downloaded the mixes, I can upload them.

I see, no, I have nothing.

Re: [ms] Soundcloud page is about to be erased by Sony

If no one has them, I'm happy to take a backup of the database, do a clean install of MCast and set it up as an archive that we are looking to setup (stream only, no downloads)
