    Re: Opening a Lounge/Club

My girlfriend wants to start her own thing. She moved to New York with 50 bucks, English is her second language. She worked all kinds of shit jobs, harassed by men, boss' husband, stood on the streets in shitty NY winter.

She knows nothing about starting her own business, especially in a foreign country where everything that has happened has been against her.

I have my own doubts and worries. To me they are reasonable, pragmatic concerns, very much like some of the doubts and aspersions raised in this discussion: Lack of experience, supply chain, CAPITAL, SPACE, EVERYTHING.

The best thing I learnt from my old boss: We were once in a room, one of those corporate gangbangs and everyone was debating and going nowhere, quite like MS really. He was standing outside the gangbang. He got fed up, walked into the middle of the room, and told everyone, it's alright to be scared. It's good to be scared because we're doing something new and it's never been done before.

I try to think, through a lot of self-help reading, that the way we behave towards others are projections of our own inner fears and turmoils. And we react most adversely when we recognize in others what we don't like about ourselves or can admit to.

And that is what I see happening with all the negativity in this thread. You reveal more of yourselves through your negativity than you think you're "being real." Michael^Heaven is the only one who seems to have done this and he's the only one who understands and is supportive. Everyone else is simply approaching this topic from their noob status voicing their own fears when they haven't even tried.

My girlfriend will do it through sheer force of will with or without me so I'm kinda on this ride and trying my best, least I can do is help her with what I know and can, and if not, be supportive.

And there is always Google. I actually found via Google, thankfully, there are free consultations provided by the state to help people starting up their own small businesses.

See that is the way it should be , once it's over it's over. Perhaps good for the odd giggle

^^ I had a lot of respect for Steve Graham, the feeling wasn't mutual , he certainly didn't beat around the bush But ultimately he left because he couldn't take as much as he gave.

Doing a little research and came across another floridaorange post which started "Didi please" from 2010 and even then it was pointed out by someone how often it was used .

If you didn't have to put him on ignore than he left you alone, cuz you'd know if he was on your trail. Just ask Resonator or that bloke originally from England, but lives in Tampa... with the shaved head, nice guy but he couldn't take it anymore and left, I forget his name at the moment, it'll come to me, was it Jeff?

No you don't. But it doesn't really help your position in supporting a serial abuser to other board members here.

You give him the same kind of heat for the bullshit he's been doing on FL? I doubt it.

And you don't have a response to what I posted earlier.

Please, enlighten me what made him such an MVP on MS in your mind.
