sc is done no matter what they do now, the trouble is their user base now is young crowd that don't want to buy music, they just want to stream it free

Valuation a few months ago was close to $700 million, now it's $150 million.

They're trying to get by on life support. This kind of reminds me of how Napster went down.

soundcloud are thick, trying to get investors into the company at a time when they were telling everyone that everything was fine and nothing was going on when all the time all the were doing was lying to everyone...can't say much about their future once people start to realise exactly what is going on in this company

Personally I was hoping they would die. They are now just another crap streaming "service"

SoundCloud is close to a deal to sell stakes in the company to a pair of private equity firms, according to people familiar with the matter, an investment that will help the beleaguered music-streaming service keep operating for the foreseeable future.

as i've got older i'm trending towards the opposite opinion, the site you mentioned have so much choice and are more or less doing it once a week, boiler room even more, boiler room broadcasts a lot of content that most people just won't watch so it tend to drive a lot of people away from it and who know if they watch out for the people they like or not...there is just so much stuff out there nowadays

Mixcloud did it but not having any downloads, Youtube did it by making up their own special license Soundcloud thought they were smart but really weren't

t's really interesting that this doesn't seem to be a problem for Youtube.
both companies were set up differently, not sure exactly how but i know that youtube was set up in a way where is has certain rights towards music in the same way mixcloud has, soundcloud didn't do that... i think it has something to do with royalties
