Fascination, like watching a car wreck !! So many people I know have been really upset by things that have happened to them on facebook. I guess it isn't "just" the internet when it has this power.

I actually find myspace a lot easier to check out artists. The layout is really easy to use . You can check out their music get tours dates etc. a lot easier. Not a member there either.

Someone used a photo of mine as their main profile photo on facebook.. which a friend of mine pointed out... apparently it's happened to her several times as well...

...pretty crazy considering I've never even used FB.

On a side note, don't mean to hijack this thread but found this quite relevant -

They had a 4 part documentary called the Virtual Revolution on TV recently. They did a great bit on Facebook. Apparently Bill Gates was getting 10 thousand friend requests a day

Facebook is a non-obtrusive way of keeping abreast of what is going on in your friend's lives. It has enabled me to reconnect with dozens of friends that I hadn't seen for years, and it's sort of nice to just see what everyone's up to. I don't really see the harm in it at all.

Don't understand the Mafia Wars/Farmville/etc. BS at all, though.

    Yeah I mentioned stalking earlier.

My friends 14 year old daughter put some photos of herself posing in her underwear for her friends to see. My friend only found out because he hacked her account.

Definitely don't think I am too cool for it. Just scares the shit out of me

Has anyone mentioned stalking and cyber bullying yet?? Appears to work really well for those activities. !! And because other people feel it's ok to put anything up, even if you are not a member you can be stalked through it.
