Regarding myspace, if you never really used facebook when it originated, myspace is going to seem more user friendly because everyone seemed to use myspace, and many artists still do

... I think a lot of people are late adopters because they wonder how many times there going to have to switch networking websites or what have you... And they already feel as though they use the internet enough as it is .
The reasons I find it scary are definitely not gender specific !! They are the reasons like the ones I posted very early in this thread which I would have thought would be of concern to everyone. I'm not scared for me specifically .
Btw women here aren't worried about walking to their car either. As I said [gee I type that a lot ] Myspace all on one page = easy.

For real!!! I have a couple of people that I am friends with (In real life, too), that do this shit all. The. Time.

Like they are the almighty source of knowledge, and have all the answers to all the difficult questions in life.

Yeah..I have a few "friends" that are constantly saying how ill they feel, or they're sick, or today's a crappy day...etc. I had to finally "ignore" them to not see their posts and a one of them are a closer friend too. It's like jeez..suck the life outta you with their attention wanting. I would just end up responding with "Again?". Other than that, I enjoy facebook.

I agree, no point in being paranoid over a site. Either you want your stuff online or not. Even if you choose not to join FB, likely there are some photos of you on it anyway

Yeah, you are probably right. It looks crap. But everything I want is on the front page. As I said, play the music, check the tour dates. That's pretty much all I want so I don't need it to look good. !!

Best of all you can easily find artists. Not get "Is this the Joe blow you want ??"

I guess it is just a personal opinion, but to me myspace looks like someone has vomited a load of fliers up on the screen and allowed it to dribble down for several pages then swapped out the shiny quad core in your computer for a 486 and switched out your broadband for a 56k modem. And then added another 6 pages of unrelated people spamming stuff that nobody really cares about.

    Just imo
