    They've actually started a few controlled burns already. But it only buns for about 45 mins and only burns the oil sheen on the surface. I'm not really sure it's that's been beneficial though.

    Oil leak in Gulf of Mexico off coast of LA

    It's getting really bad. I can smell the fumes in the air this morning. They haven't been able to stop the leaks yet, and another leak sprung a few days ago making a total of 3. The oil reached land last night, and will continue to wash further inland. Our seafood industry is going to take a phenomenal hit. Already, shrimpers, crabbers, and fishermen are shutting down shop. Mississippi and Alabama will feel the same effects.

    Still no answers as to why the initial explosion happened in the first place. 11 men are presumed dead as a week long search turned up nothing. Really, really sad for an area that is still in the recovery process from Katrina.
