Localizer my point was exactly what Shpira pointed out. Who makes the call to not report on it anymore? That's all. No Nostradamus needed to see that the bankers and energy companies basically have a gun to the worlds head by drowning everyone in debt. I still don't understand why the US just doesn't say "hey were starting back at 0... everyone" and if not 0 cut in half or something to ease the debt pressure. What could the world do? There isn't a military threat to the US.

I believe we are seeing a huge redistribution of wealth (I hate that term but it fits) a lot of the bailout went to foreign banks. Can you beleive that the American taxpayer is on the hook for loans given to the UK and projects being done in China and India?

^^things do look very grim...i would say hold on to your seats...3-5 years before you see ANY growth and then 2018-22 China GDP equals or overtakes US...not a good time to be born in the US.

Why not? By the time the baby is 25, China's demand for American goods should have peaked

yeah...but who decides the day when all media cuts its reporting??? I mean i understand that not all media outlets can afford to have a foreign correspondent on the ground...but all the major ones are gone. I don't think that its the economy necessarily that caused this shift in focus.

As for the economy..i see no positives whatsoever...for example the latest thing in the UK is the 800 billion tax increase and transparency on bonuses that they are talking of introducing..this is hailed by a big victory in the UK....nothing could be further from the truth.

as for the rate hike, nothing is set in stone and there are no guarantees...could easily turn out that it doesn't go up.

There's no doubt things are looking hazy--grim? we shall see. Bernanke was under pressure by the house budget committee yesterday. Despite the doom and gloom, there is resistance growing in the house, led by none other than Ron Paul. They're taking the fed head-on which may subsequently curb the destruction that may follow. And between earnings on large caps this week, UK economic data coming out yesterday and the BoE Rate Adjustments and BoE purchase target data coming out along with this hearing that just past, Egypt news would probably take a backseat. That is probably why the media shifted its focus.

I figured RM with all his vast knowledge would have been able to logically reason out why media on egypt took a backseat. he can guess the end of the world, the next war, etc... but can't quite figure out why media on egypt subsided.

Let me fill you in on a little secret...

The economy isn't going to get better bonehead. It can't. Not with slave labor in China and China stealing all of your technology. The collapse of the US is certain. It is just a matter of time now. That is why the banks are looting the treasury. To get as much as possible before the collapse and to enslave the US.
