Does the progression of pictures help visually depict my concerns? Well I'm not sure really. Perhaps I haven't been clear enough.

If the Egyptians are going to continue backwards traditions such as cutting up clits, what real possibility is there that Egypt will become more modern, more democratic, more tolerant? I would love to be convinced that those who practice backwards traditions will promote modern notions of law, justice, economics, and rights. But i just don't see it happening.

As far as Mubarak stopping the terrorist bombing of the church - remind me, because my memory is fuzzy, was it that obscure pro-Mubarak faction that bombed them?

Do you support this quiet rejection of Mubarak's authority? Do you think the middle class is more enlightened than Mubarak if they, in large parts, promote genital mutilation?
