That link just states they're thinking about upping the bitrate, not that the bitrate isn't 128 or that they're going to change it.

yes i know what the article says lol but u,ve missed my point, they are upping their game and so will the sites/apps that rip stuff from there

The extension doesn't rip anything. It just outs the music file embedded on the page and gives you download access to it. That's why you get the weird alpha-numeric file name on the download.

And I don't understand what you're saying about 'recording'. Nothing is recorded in the upload/transcoding process, nor in the what the extension does.

lol u,ve completely missed the point, if its not downloadable in the first place its for a reason...if u think about what u said it kind of proves my point that the software must have access to the servers to out the file and make it downloadable in the first place...yea nothing is recorded but if u upload a 320 mp3 to soundcloud and make it downloadable the person downloading it will receive a 320 from the server which means that they are stored on the server as what it was uploaded as originally ( although playback will be different on the soundcloud page )... actually its pretty hard to find info on how the process works on line as i,ve been looking for it all day lol

Music definitely makes life better, in fact contemplating a world without it is totally incomprehensible! In fact the absolute best thing about this age is that there is just so much amazing music out there and just given to us!! But it is available without piracy. I am just incredibly grateful for that. I remember when you had to buy your music or steal it from a music store Even stealing was a lot harder then And it was bloody expensive !!

LOL...not bad mood just busy...and as a result impatient. I am not asking you justify anything...all I am saying is that life is a pretty damn big thing and to label people one way or another just because they choose to download some music...is wrong...

Yes it has...anyone who listens to music is happier than the equivalent without the music...or at least that has been my experience.
People who are born in less fortunate circumstances...wish they could afford to pay for xyz that they downloaded but they can't...and if we are to talk of right and wrong...in 80% of these cases their country is being raped by companies that were founded in the West...

wait as i said...not going to get into this.... suffice to say....things are not black and white

I really can't be asked to argue about this...you definitely don't earn 10 euros a day or 1.20 per hour and don't make a choice between eating for a day or buying a CD.... find thats the bottom line here...

So you can remain morally uncorruptable...and visit these countries and tell people how they shouldn't support piracy...

Nobody is asking you to argue. You just seem to be in a very bad mood lately As I said you know nothing of my life .This is ridiculously funny !! I am being told to justify the fact that I don't want to steal music Or are just trying to live up to your subtitle

@ Shpira , So you know what other people did , not what I did. What do you know of my life??? You have no idea what I have gone through for my love of music, and still do! My broadband is still 512 K . If you had been paying attention , you just might have noticed me talking about saving up to buy my music. And as I said I might not have all of an artist's work , but I do have the best! Why are you having a go at me because I refuse to condone stealing .?? I haven't told anyone not to do it. I suggested there may be options.

I know there is probably stuff I have downloaded in more naive days that wasn't legal , and we always have the issues with sets. But I can say I am incredibly careful now, if I see something uploaded I try and find it on an artist's page or soundcloud. and I have never stolen a track . I am also very selective. Obviously I don't Dj but I do have a beatport account and buy tracks I love in wav.

Lame (the mp3 encoder) at 320kbs sounds perfectly clean on demanding soundsystems, while anything lower is easy to spot. The problem comes with software-driven dj sets that are meant for the Web and, let's admit it, with warez blogs. I think it was Trickski who recently got ripped by some blogger who passed the Soundcloud preview of their EP for the real deal after a transcode.

But, I'm wondering. What about Proton Radio then, or BBC for that matter, shouldn't THEY be resentful?

Soundcloud's "previews", as YouTube's videos, are already downloaded by any computer that visits their sites, most people just don't know it.
As for stealing, I've seen people playing 128kbs in sets they posted on the Web and many times they've been caught red-handed. That's the only risk.

and as for the hacking part well its obvious by just how quick those sites/apps rip the audio that the sites/apps do not record the song and give u just a recording
