Have to say that the album is not as bad as some people say it is, but I agree that it doesn't fit in the Involver series.

Really like the beach vibe, it sounds fresh and like summer, but it's not new or timless. He should have called the cd Ushuaia or WMC '13 or something like that. The only things that irritate me are the transitions, some vocals and the last tracks. Don't know what went wrong at the end, but I prefer to stop the cd after track 10. "Shoot you down" is such a uggly track!

Prefer cd 2 over cd 1 btw. It has the flow that cd 1 is missing. I think I will play that cd a lot this summer when I'm chilling in the garden .

Can´t say i'm surprised with all the bad comments from this CD because Sasha has been criticized on mostly every recent stuff available here on MS...


Personally i´ve enjoyed Involv3r ... First Involver still by far my fav though

I def agree that some of the transitions are suspect, too quick, but the tracks themselves are fuckin sweet if you ask me.

For Sasha to still be able to make an album this good despite his obvious lack of influence compared to what it used to be is a success in itself

Same here.. I just keep it away from my headphones. Sounds cool as.. background music I guess, and I do enjoy certain parts of the mix, but still can't get into it.. like say.. I did with Warren's new album.

Does anyone else this MOS had a huge part in the final product of this album?
I heard on FB (a very reliable source) that this album was never complete, due to Sasha taking his sweet ass doing sweet fa, and MOS provided an ultimatum to hurry the fuck up, hence the track sequencing being produced by a 15 y.o bedroom DJ hooked on porn. Thus, a unfinished symphony.

I don't know if you guys have seen this:

I'm not really going to bother to write a whole review, but to simply say listen to it by yourself and make what you think of it.

Two things that really stood for me being different were:

• This is not the usual mellow style of Involver mixes we're used to hearing, definitely a harder bass line and I did notice a slightly faster BPM. This is probably due to the touring side of things having tracks ready for dance floor. Mind you, having watched him in both Involver tours, it is a little ordinary having an 'mellow' album played back when you've got your dancing shoes on.
• Vocally it was consistent I thought to the previous Involver mixes, however he did choose the pop route this time, sticking to tracks from The XX, Little Dragon etc.

Overall this album/mix is really growing on me, I simply cannot underestimate the genius of CD 2. I know it's just CD 1 without a beat, but it is superbly done (the magic of Sasha). I am sure we are all aware that any Sasha set takes at least 3 hours to warm up. CD 1 really does have it moments, sine tracks are inequitably reworked, and again I give it to the man.

Charlie May could be that missing link on why this is a unusual Sasha mix.

Considering Involver is his pet project it's kinda lame that he took his sweet time doing fuck all and released this half assed mix. Based on this thread, what does the mix say about Sasha?

And I call BS on taking 3hrs to warm up. When he headlines, he comes on and bangs it out, hardly any warm up. I've seen Digweed start from silence and bring it up in 1hr. Plus this is a CD compilation, he'll never have 3hrs to warm up unless he released a 4-CD mix like London.

Maybe people would view the release less harshly if they remember this is Sasha without the guy who's been a regular production partner for many a year?

I could probably make a half decent album myself if i had Charlie with me in the studio for a year

The first 2 tracks are okay. As people have said before, too many vocals. There's no flow to the album. This mix has no personality compared to older Sasha mixes. Even my wife said it was making her sleepy.
