track Time. I have said so many times that I hate it, but heard this is on a couple of well recorded sets lately and I really really get it now !! It's sending shivers up and down my spine as I type.

Holden jumpstarted the pixie trance movement, with an entire legion of copycats following in his wake shortly thereafter, and then he went on to remake himself (whether it's to one's liking is another matter entirely). Saiz is good, but he doesn't have that same kind of creative flare.^^ With a mix this long there is definitely going to be something you, or I , don't like , I think I am lucky that I do like most of what Henry does even back to Tangerine Dream
And we are all bloody lucky that we have this amazing music given to us in best mp3 quality. I'm am very happy today.
BTW Much as I hate to say this James holden is a mere spark compared to Henry's super nova.
Seriously Henry now has years of amazing work behind him, he has earnt the legend status.Comment

^^I used to follow James Holden . I stopped when he started doing that pixie trance.
To me it was just nonsensical sounds. The one thing I really don't believe anyone can criticise Henry for is lack of creativity.
If anything, he need to tone it down a little
He is so much more substantial than Holden ever was. imho of course.

I was referring to productions, more or less. Some are daring but don't hold a candle to the creativity that can be found in Holden's back catalog (IMHO, etc.) Haven't heard enough compilations (live or otherwise) from Saiz to say one way or the other. The Usher and Beyonce remarks are keeping me from this one, though.^^I used to follow James Holden . I stopped when he started doing that pixie trance.

I find it strange that you ditched Holden so soon. The pixie movement had arrived as of "Horizons," and James had only released a few productions prior if memory serves (that was his first official single in any case). In the height of that movement when the copycats were at full blast (2004), he furnished that unforgettable carnival techno mix of "The Sky Was Pink." His artist album came as a letdown after all the potential promise, but he has a host of material in remix form and several singles (the last one with Thompson, "Come To Me," was huge). Saiz hasn't left a similar imprint in my mind (at least not yet).

Holden's pixie trance was still better trance than any of its day and today. Only dropped him with The Idiots.

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.Comment

^^ Funny, I always saw pixie trance as a derogatory phrase
I think I just out grew trance. Actually maybe not , I loved JOOF earlier in the year. When I saw Holden first he was prog

Some of it perhaps, there was some golden material in the progressive realm from the 90s that I liked before he appeared.

Re: Henry Saiz- Labyrinth 16 Best of 2012
Personally I dont like his productions that much because he seems to flirt a little bit with some trance related sounds which they dont appeal that much to me. However his dj sets are getting better as times goes bye, but 4 hours is a little too much. Are you suppose to have 4 free hours to listen to this as a whole? In my case it can take me a couple of days to listen to the for 4 hours and pay the proper attention it disserves. Sometimes less is more.Comment

I'm lucky, I work for myself, so I can just play music all day. I don't need to find time. I really try to listen to a set in one piece.
