    Well, they know that they can't get any money out of the dj for playing the tunes, so they go up the ladder and sue the venue that hired him...money money money...

      thats bullshit.. what if a producer or lable rep gives you the track.. how the hell can they sue?

        Thats what the article states...even if the dj was given the track as a promo he still is committing a crime if he hasn't paid for the right to play it...so now I guess we have to pay for the tune and then pay for the right to play it.

          thats what i mean, it makes no sense.. im not talking about buying it from beatport.. im talking about a producer that GIVES you the track for the sole purpose of playing it out to promo the track.. how can ASCAP control that.. its not their fucking music, lol

                      I guess now you have to bring the e-mail from the producer with you to the clubs, so that when they stop you, you can pull out the e-mails that give you 100% permission to play it.
