Re: anyone see the kid from the john kerry event yet?
excessive means too much, so im with you, the tazer was way too much for this kid, i dont know how you can tell this is right, it is obviously not right, i understand that a cop has to protect himself against any kind of danger, but one thing is protecting himself (im talking about moderate use of force) and the other one is beating a college kid's ass who is not dangerous at all, and i can asure he wasnt dangerous because he had to pass all the security inspections just before entering the forum, so in the same way they have the right to use the force, they have the obligation of thinking about it before using it too.

Re: anyone see the kid from the john kerry event yet?
^ whether he complied or not is a different story. thats what the charge is for. they clearly had him under control, on the floor, with their knees on him and his arms behind his back. so the taser was useless as he was already where they needed him. fucking univ pigs that want to show they are not big pussies...Leave a comment:

Re: anyone see the kid from the john kerry event yet?
I'm thinking this is the main part of the debate.. fine, arrest him or whatever.. the taser was excessiveI dont think that it was excessive that he was removed coz he wasnt having a balanced debate, he was ranting. Even if Kerry was saying he wants to answer the question its not the way to do things in that environment.
However, the tazer was totally unecessary imo.
V funny though..

Saw this on CNN, resisting arrest in Utah is a misdemeanor, so that guy was Tazered for a misdemeanor.Betty Perry is charged with resisting arrest and failing to maintain her landscaping, both misdemeanors.Leave a comment:

Re: anyone see the kid from the john kerry event yet?
Im sorry but the 5 pigs did not need to use the tazer full stop. Even on programs like worlds wildest police chases etc where the suspect (often a serious crim) has driven like a total maniac and endanged many peoples lives, the police do not feel the need to taz them, they just bundle them and cuff their hands behind their back. Problem sorted. Now if 5 of them cant even manage that with one scrawny college kid and feel the need to put 1000s of volts through him, then there is something seriously wrong. Either that or they are just sad bored campus cops or something and just wanted some action.
Either way it was bang out of order even if he was a twat. At the end of the day
all he did was speak/shout out of line, its not like he endangered or attacked anyone (and no, the cops were never in any danger).Leave a comment:

Yup, force (namely, the tazer) used was excessive and unnecessary. There are pressure points to utilize to get a suspect to comply as far as handcuffs go.Leave a comment:

Re: anyone see the kid from the john kerry event yet?
That's the wrong question. My bleeding heart [proud of that btw.] goes out to the people that are so desensitized that they argue that the right thing for police to do is tazer some loudmouth fuckwit. And that people should behave better because they know police will do nasty things to them?? Thankfully that's not an option here, the police don't have tazers.
We have the same laws about resisting arrest and it's the law that police come up with when they can't think of anything else
Look at the footage, at no time was he a physical threat to anyone, he didn't try to hit anyone, he only tried to pull away . This makes him a total idiot but no danger. When they tazered him he was face down on the floor , five cops on top of him, one hand handcuffed and he was making it hard for them to handcuff the other. If five cops couldn't grab one hand they shouldn't be cops!! It looks far more like expediency than necessity!! and when your police force uses a tazer as an expedient measure, that's scary.
I'm also very glad that when incidences of "over reaction" from our police happen, people in this country do protest about it.!!
The most stupid thing about all this is that the guy got exactly what he wanted!!! Heaps and heaps of attention!! He knows that he can recover from a tazer so that's not as big a threat for the next time he wants some attention, but I guess they can always shoot him!Leave a comment:

Re: anyone see the kid from the john kerry event yet?
I'm glad I waited a bit to see what else would come of this. Sounds like the kid was doing it for a publicity stunt and got more then he bargained for. If so, the school ought to kick him out for being a jackass...and the rest of the "protesters" after the fact are gonna look dumb as shit. But then again he can stay and they'll just take his moneyThey even warned him that they would taser him if he didn't stop resisting and he continued to fight with the cops.
Despite that, when these videos are shown and cases are heard, why the fuck is it that when the police say they are going to taser someone if they keep it up, they still act like a complete dumb ass like they think they are NOT going to get tasered...I don't think out of the relative few officers (as a whole) that are allowed to carry one of these things that they are going to act high and mighty and use that as an idle threat...Leave a comment:

Re: anyone see the kid from the john kerry event yet?
This is the last time I'll bug you all with this, I promise. I have too much free time today
The guy can ask questions. What he can't do without consequence is rudely interrupt a public forum, badger Kerry with disrespectful questions, and subject everyone else to his extreme and disorderly behavior.
Last time..."free" in America doesn't mean that you can say and do anything anywhere anytime with no consequences. But all that doesn't even matter with respect to what happened to him, because that was caused by the guy's decision to RESIST ARREST (apparently I can't get this point across).
Anyone with even a cursory knowledge of law could tell you that this one is absurdly wrong. Resisting arrest by a police officer with violence = up to a FELONY OFFENSE in a US criminal court. Comprende?
When a police officer here detains you, you must comply. It is not up to you to "decide" if you "think" you did/did not break the law, if you do/don't feel like being arrested that day, etc. There are other forums in which your innocence or guilt will be ascertained and where you may defend yourself - it's called a court of law. And if the cops really did something wrong in arresting you, you can even sue them later.
"K-a-r-a-t-e or whatever"?
Here's the bottom line: There is no way for police to subdue an unruly subject except with VIOLENCE AND FORCE. Somehow, I think if the cops had let loose on the chump with some karate kicks and chops, you'd all be screaming bloody murder just the same.
I've said all I can say...probably have half the posts in here and I sound like a broken record...if you still don't follow me then it's obviously out of my hands and we just have to agree to disagree
. Peace!

Re: anyone see the kid from the john kerry event yet?
i really cant belieave that people think this was excessive.
when a cop tells you to leave, thats exactly what you do, you leave. they told him shit load of times, and the dude kept on resisting.
one of the reasons a cop needs to be in control of a situation like that is for you not to get hurt, like say, getting a dislocated shoulder, dislocated elbow....
people that have never been arrested are always the same ones saying shit like "that was abusive", if you ever been arrested, you know that when a cop tells you to chill, you chill, if not, hes gonna have enough reasons to kick your ass.Leave a comment:

Re: anyone see the kid from the john kerry event yet?
Miroslav is completely right. I'll add that guy is like many of these campus Nazis that shout down the guest speakers at universities. Questions are fine, but he's not there for a rational discussion. He's there to take advantage of the forum and be abusive. I'd like to see many more of these "protesters" put in jail. Those protesters show lack of respect for the speaker and the law. They also get quite violent and attack speakers.
The law enforcement acted fine. That guy had plenty of chances to walk out of there without being tasered and arrested. They even warned him that they would taser him if he didn't stop resisting and he continued to fight with the cops. Believe me, you would certainly taser someone if you were threatened enough. I'd much rather taser someone and explain it then allow myself to be injured.
The blame goes to the kid who started this mess. None of this would have happened if he asked his questions without being disrespectful of Kerry and the people at the speaking event.Leave a comment:

Re: anyone see the kid from the john kerry event yet?
out of line? What is this Japan with manner police.. this is the USA home of the brave and the free.. so your saying he can't ask certain questions??sigh...all you bleeding hearts are so quick to cry over a guy who was obviously out of line and then proceeded to fight with the police. It's really rather strange to me.
I don't know about your part of the world, but in the USA when police officers exercise their ability to arrest someone it is not optional for that person to comply - it is a requirement.
And by the way, if it had been one cop and he would have instead had to do things like tackle the kid, put him in a headlock, and slap him around a bit in order to get him under control and cuff him....would that really have made you happier?
Also a police officer only has the right to arrest you if you broke the law. If not you have the right to protect yourself..
The cops should have let Kerry answer the question and then forgot about it.. if he would refuse to leave then man handle him out using K-a-r-a-t-e... or whatever but don't buzz him with 50,000 volts..Leave a comment:
