^ dude, most women don't share passion for things like men do, we are wired differently in that regard, not to mention dj'ing is a male dominated arena/industry. anyway, if your still wondering wtf to do (which by the number of new bumps I assume you are) I recommend being subtle about it. Start w. the classics, stuff everyone liked(s), she's not going to be a Hawtin fan overnight. Also drop a few Chloe mixes and Sandra Collins from time to time and during the parts of the mix that your both enjoying, tell her "this is a female dj" you know, she will appreciate that your open minded, etc and will become more interested. A few livesets, some dancing, really shouldn't be too difficult but it can take time...I remember it taking a year or more before my gf's would start buying EDM albums and asking to go see certain dj's on their own. I would say that it was probably easier for me back in early 2000 because of the buzz EDM had around it at that time.

You haven't learned by now that you shouldn't hand over loaded weapons to certain individuals :P

I've been battling this issue since I was knee-high to a duck. I think I've only had one girlfriend that was into edm. Even then we differed on what kind of edm and that can be worse than her just not liking it all together. My fiance now, and one of the reasons I'll be spending the rest of my life with her, is she is open to anything I like (except anal). Her choice of music is the local radio station. In her cd case there's shit like Britney Spears, Barbara Striesand, and old Guns & Roses. However when Digweed came to town, she was excited to go and ended up directly in front of the dj booth making googly eyes with John and telling him how to dj. It's all about compromise. I'm just now figuring this out.

Although I just can't get into those fucking musicals she loves so much.

    Men read the headlines

    Women read the fine print

And my x only liked EDM when she was pissed - go figure!

the end of the day... if its not edm, she'll be on your case about something...

    to men, women are objects...

    to women, men are projects...

No need for her to force alcohol on me I will be more than happy to drink it willingly as any pain including one caused by such intolerable screams is handled far easier with a bottle of plumb rakiya in your hands....

I was just stressing the point of how easy you guys get it...I mean its not difficult to convert a girl from moby or coldplay or whatever but if she listens to this shit then your gonna need some hard core brain washing to get through....
The thing is , she might try to convert you as well,

She might stuff a bottle of rakiya down your throat and say " to enjoy this music is better with alcohol"
