Re: So I dumped my girlfriend for EDM
I know that feeling man , about 4 years ago i was dating this chick ,so we were in my car and I suddenly played Cattaneo at moonpark 2004 and the bitch told me to turn it down or change it , that was such a turn off .
We only lasted 3 months and that was the first big sign that this wasnt going anywhereLeave a comment:

Re: So I dumped my girlfriend for EDM
Hmm I would have said women sometimes have different passions. They can also be just as passionate about the music they do love!!.dude, most women don't share passion for things like men do
We women who do love edm can't really win . I was taken much more seriously when I was thought to be a guy
If we dare get really enthusiastic we are accused of stalking
But one thing I do agree with , I doubt I could be in a long term relationship with someone who didn't at least respect my passion for the music.
So you are being open minded to listen to female dj's ???
I thought it was all about the music.
Btw You can love edm and still not love Hawtin
Must admit he did impress me the other night!!

Re: So I dumped my girlfriend for EDM
thanks bro thats a good approach to it , I think you are right about giving them the easy stuff to listen at first , also mentioning thats a female dj you are listening to, might help .^ dude, most women don't share passion for things like men do, we are wired differently in that regard, not to mention dj'ing is a male dominated arena/industry. anyway, if your still wondering wtf to do (which by the number of new bumps I assume you are) I recommend being subtle about it. Start w. the classics, stuff everyone liked(s), she's not going to be a Hawtin fan overnight. Also drop a few Chloe mixes and Sandra Collins from time to time and during the parts of the mix that your both enjoying, tell her "this is a female dj" you know, she will appreciate that your open minded, etc and will become more interested. A few livesets, some dancing, really shouldn't be too difficult but it can take time...I remember it taking a year or more before my gf's would start buying EDM albums and asking to go see certain dj's on their own. I would say that it was probably easier for me back in early 2000 because of the buzz EDM had around it at that time.Leave a comment:
