Re: So I dumped my girlfriend for EDM
u r all lucky in a kind of way, all the girls round this way still like to goto bars and clubs that still play 80's pop hits and shit, i,ve yet to meet a girl thats into the same kind of music and i,m that fucking stubborn i,ll not even entertain a night of wham and duran duran to try to pull someone.
one night my freind and i got drunk out in town and decided to head to a new "night club" that had just opened in our town, so we payed our enterence fee went upstairs bought a drink, i wasnt even quarter of the way through my bottle of beer and decided "ah fuck this i,m outa here" without even telling my m8 who by this time was dancing next to some kinda obese 80's dropout, i just took one look @ the place and thought erm fuck this
there i was with baggy jeans on and a big baggy jacket standing in a crowd of my towns biggest no hopers in shirts and ties etc
i swear i was pissing myself all the way home and just as well my m8 payed my entrance fee lmaoLeave a comment:

Re: So I dumped my girlfriend for EDM
good riddance. you'll find a better girl that can appreciate you more anyhow. my gf doesn't like edm either, but she likes country and ghetto rap. any time she tells me edm sucks i remind her of the garbage she listens to and how her music has shaped this country. she usually stops bitching by that time.Leave a comment:

Re: So I dumped my girlfriend for EDM
now she's going to think of you every time she hears Sandstorm on the radio
good job man. you don't badmouth her for listening to non-EDM or going to concerts, there's no reason she should be doing it to you. I don't respect anybody who judges me for being different from themLeave a comment:

Re: So I dumped my girlfriend for EDM
Your girlfriend doesn't have to be THAT into edm as long as she can live with it. But she HAS to respect what you're passionate about.Leave a comment:

Yeah bro-my fav part is how legit your day job is and that you're more educated than she is ;-)
Well playedLeave a comment:

Re: So I dumped my girlfriend for EDM
You don't necessarily have to find a girl thats inot the scene even though that would rock. My girl isn't really into edm but she doesn't dislike it either. I don't like the hip hop trash she listens to sometimes either but that isn't an issue. We both have things we're into that we can share. we both like a lot of the same other music also. If your X had such an issue, screw her, you're better off. Too bad it had to end like that, but you'll recover.
Like my friend said, " thers no better way to get over a girl, than to get over another one"

Re: So I dumped my girlfriend for EDM
Just have to find someone who is into the scene like yourself.
My gf is big fan of EDM it is kind of how we bonded.
It is tuff to be around others who do not understand the amount
of time it takes to develop a sound and some consider it a slight
in the attention department, when you stand there staring into space while mixing tracks. Hope your luck changes for the better.Leave a comment:

Re: So I dumped my girlfriend for EDM
good for you. If she just cannot respect you the way you are, with your hobbies and passions and little and big mistakes...fuck her. Unless you come home totally drugged every now and then with problematic behaviour and such, but assuming you're a smart guy I take it that that is not the case?Leave a comment:

So I dumped my girlfriend for EDM
She always bitches that I used to go to "raves" and I still go to club nights. I am a dj and I guess she didn't realize this the 10000 times I told her and mentioned it. She said "Your not a dj, you only tell people(women, in her eyes, i guess) that to impress them." WTF!!!
I never said I was Nick Warren, flying all over the world and playing.... It is just my hobby and occasionally I play at a small local club to 15 people. I still consider myself a dj, I have been doing it now for 7-8 years and I have media and I actually know what I am doing. I don't understand why my hobby is a problem, I am an investment and wealth management specialist and I am more educated then she is. Oh, but I am a dj and I am 25 and should not still look favorably on the rave scene. I mean I only am totally obsessed with my music, like she didn't know how much it means to me. I took the comment as a complete insult and I dumped her. We had a conversation about this before, a few months ago, and I had enough.
Sorry bout the rant, just needed to get it out to some fellow EDM heads......Tags: None
