Started The Hobbit 2 days ago - it was on the bookshelf (my girlfriends side) and I was bored. Cant say I'm overly impressed so far, but it will be nice to say I've read it.

That sucks, that was voted one of the best last year and I was thinking about checking it out. Too bad...

    Reading right now:

Full of 80s references, atari and old video games, and movie quotes.

    Also reading:

Snagged this one off of Amazon today for only $5.50 total, supposed to be one of the best non-fiction books published last year:

    Checking this one out next.

Currently reading The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Sumptuous. Need to resume Thomas Mann's The Magic Mountain, too.

    Recently read:

    Little Hands Clapping
    by Dan Rhodes.

^^^Fantastic. Entertaining, a bit of a quick read, but the characters are wonderfully detailed. Lovely stories behind all faces.

Apathy and Other Small Victories by Paul Neilan

^^^Really good... Funny and realistic. The main character seems to be a basic sketch of a 21st century Holden Caulfield, but caring even less.

    Currently reading:

The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery

Not sure how I feel about this one. Only 60 pages in, and I've started reading instead...

The Years of Rice and Salt by Kim Stanley Robinson
    The_Years_Of_Rice_And_Salt.jpg
    Too early to tell.

    Future reading:

    Replay by
    Ken Grimwood
    Ken-Grimwood-Replay.jpg
...based on a recommendation. Premise seems like it might be repetitive, but I'll give it a shot.

    The Dragonriders of Pern
    by Anne McCaffrey

A whim, basically. I remember reading a couple of her books when I was a kid, so I thought perhaps I could start at the beginning and see if it's good enough to commit myself to reading the entire series.
