^^^ Why have tools that don't do what they were made for ??? The purpose of a knife is not to skim your fingers .

but Jenks Jenks Jenks, if I skim my finger with my knives nothing bad happens, with the sharp one? instant wound/blood.... so no thanks enjoy your knives tho, I get it

sunny & a high of 66 today, heading out to our favorite outdoor pizzeria with one daughter (well, she eats pizza, I do not) for lunch...

happy day on Fri -- we have all new family room furniture (sofa, love seat, ottoman, floor lamp, 2 tables) + TV (for over the mantle) being delivered... trying now to get all our old stuff out of the room, which requires a ton of organizing to get it all out of here (because some are storage-type pieces for magazines, books, dvds, seashells, all must go elsewhere)... have this great mix on:

^^ have had a large glass cutting board for years, it's textured and doesn't scratch, ever. One thing I don't like about it is that it's loud. lol... Am attracted to nice wood ones in stores and that "ultimate" one idea (kickstarter) intrigued me.

you're saying "bacteria is drawn down [into the wood] and killed?"....interesting point, didn't realize... I guess it's 'to each his own'

Never been cut using my duller knives... my really sharp one has cut me so it's been banned from my kitchen. maybe I'm just not good with knives. idk probably lack focus when chopping or something...?? thus can't use sharp ones?

Like you, wouldn't use a plastic one. Had no idea marble would scratch or get the lowest score, how 'bout that. I often use a mandoline, just got a stainless steal spiral cutter, and of course sharp kitchen scissors get used all the time. no sharp knives tho..

^^Studies have shown that wooden boards are the best , wood is anti bacterial. Any bacteria drawn down into the wood is killed off. Plastic is terrible , the bacteria gathers in the cuts , if your glass board is scratched the same will happen and ditto marble. One of the tests I read a while ago gave marble the lowest score.

The reason I said it was be a bitch to clean was the construction not the material.

Btw the reason blunt knives are more likely to hurt you is they skid off what you are trying to cut. It has happened to me. I have my sharp knives on a magnetic rack and I wash them separately, no dishwasher, and put them on the rack straight away. Easier and safer all round. I'm not a chef

^ maybe if you're a chef? Just the opposite happens to me. Have one really sharp knife and I keep it out of the kitchen (put it in the wet bar)

you sound like a chef, are you?

you are more likely to cut yourself with a dull knife than a sharp one. facts.
