I've started it from scratch again today, play the ipod while I'm out and plug it into the stereo as soon as I come in. It really is a wonderful set.
There is such a difference between playing a long set and programming a long set. Both Hernan and Danny Howells really program their long sets superbly. Hernan has the edge cos he plays more of the tracks I really love

Just came across this thread but that's a fucking dumb comment.Well with no offense to any of the English ppl over here , but with my experience with working with many English Djs ... Jody Wisternoff , Jim Rivers , Nic Fanciuli ... all these guys are really business men they are really serious with the business stuff , which lead to playing a lot of tracks that promotes to their albums or friends albums ,so imagine Digweed while he have a big valut and he is one of the biggest promoters to 90% of the new tracks and play the best of 'em on his live gigs , plus from diggers point of view that you can listen to him playing every week despite Cattaneo who play from time to time, and throw you a 10 hour set from a year ago , and he know that you will be more than happy with it because he know that it was one of his best.
The music scene dude has gone from just a music creativity competition to another business field that many ppl want to get involved .
You say that Cattaneo give MS some exclusive stuff thats too cool for the website , but can you count how many 2009 sets has been posted for cattaneo this year and how many 2008 ...... compare it to the diggers who have posted almost the same number of LIVE GIGs on his show with a plus from him his weekly show .
in the end why did i mention the English specifically , because they are the most professional business men I've ever worked with , i give em a clap for sorting their business and separate it from their fun life , these guys are really great and funny but when it comes to work , they are strictly serious and won't allow any body to have fun while they are working , attend a live gig to any of these guys and you will see that they don't react with the crowd specially Digweed
You made some statement about English DJs and seem to lump Cattaneo with them, but he's not English.
Of course it's a business, you think these guys do this for a hobby? They make a living out of it. It's a performance art like a musician in any context.

You gave your opinion, I gave mine, that simple really !! I'm really disappointed that you felt you had to use personal references, they don't negate my opinion, it just makes it look as though you don't have confidence in your own.

Yeah right which is why thisi referred to funky deep and tribal as a description of that sound, not a reference to Hernan's release.

Btw My opinion doesn't stop you from giving a little credit to Danny, give him as much as you like !! Just as your opinion doesn't make it compulsory for me to give him credit !! Just different opinions.

Yeah i think so, you've taken everything i've said the wrong way really but then when it comes to Hernan you are always ultra defensive and that's it really.
I believe Hernan would be the best dj around no matter what pretty much, same as you do but then i never said otherwise.
All i was doing was giving a little credit to someone who introduced a sound that was different in it's day and very much changed the way house music was heading. I never denied for a minute that Hernan picked it up and made it completely his own, i was just referring to some records that broke the mould when they were released on a label that was, in many ways, seminal. A sound that predates Hernan's clubland compilations by 8 years, i referred to funky deep and tribal as a description of that sound, not a reference to Hernan's release.
If he wasn't influenced by any of those tunes then he was probably the only house dj on the planet who wasn't.

The co production was with Cass and Slide, not Hernan . And it wasn't his debut Album.

You see I believe if Danny Tenaglia had never existed Hernan would still sound pretty well the way he does todayI think it's fair to say his sound paved the way for the likes of Hernan to come along and do his thing And I interpreted saying that someone paves the way would mean that they were quite influential. Guess I was wrong

I didn't say either discovered the other, nor did i say Danny was a major influence on Hernan (though to say he didn't consider him an influence but they but co-produced a track on Hernan's debut album doesn't make sense to me)Well, if you read Hernan's biography it reads that Danny , with Sasha and digweed , discovered Hernan , not the other way around.
The credits for Funky Deep and Tribal only list Danny as a co producer on one track , and don't mention him at all in the the thank you's So Hernan obviously didn't consider him an important influence. The list of very well known names in these credits says that a lot of people were doing this type of music then. Danny was definitely amongst them , but to say he paved the way is sort of stretching a long bow. I think maybe the reason Danny is so associated with this style of music is that he has continued to play it while others have moved on. I wish some hadn't 
Whatever, any goodwill he had from me he has well and truly used up with his consequent behaviour!!
Btw Have you heard Hernan's early trance stuff ??
Back on track, was great hearing tracks from Funky Deep and Tribal in this mix.
I said he paved the way for a particular sound, as a globally influential player before Hernan was. That's all.
