i agree appart from one point.....i think the commentators are exreemly bias towards england because most of them have played for england in the past or are part of the enlish "scene", you may think they talk sense because u are picking up on that bias but as an outsider i just see then as talking shit lol (again like urself without trying to sound arrogant)

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
i think its about time ur english media/fans and comentators etc took it on the chin like scotland has for years, you are not a world beating team and havnt been for quite some time but the way u guys talk about games etc b4 u actually play them doesnt and never has compared to ur teams actual performance, you guys have some good player and a good league but when it comes down to it you just cant perform as a team when it matters.
At the prospect of sounding ignorant, which I aren't, Scotland have no choice but to take it on the chin. They simply don't have enough quality players to qualify for major events in the first place, I'm sure Huggie will agree. England do have quality players in every department that are good enough to get us to tournaments like the world cup.. most of the time
We just fail when we get there!
To be fair to most pundits and commentators on tv I think a lot of them talk sense, it's the news papers that actually report the pipe dream that we can win it. Take the BBC for instance, I'm a big fan of their coverage of any sporting occasion, particularly football and as far as I know not one of the pundits had England down to win. I have no idea what the muppets on ITV were saying as I never watched a build up on their channel.
As for the papers, I'm sure you've been told a million times, never believe what you read, it's all just tosh!Leave a comment:

Compare Rooney against Messi was the mistake in the first place... Personally never had doubts on which one is better.. Rooney is a good player, very good if you ask, but Messi is competing for a spot on the next level, be the best player ever.. We have our first massive game this Saturday against the Germans.. All my hopes are on Messi and what he can do by himself and for Higuain and Tevez... We need him on the best form if we pretend to beat the German, most solid team with Brazil so far...
To be honest, if we must go back home, Germany is one of those teams which can beat you up so, i am ready for what is next
ARGENTINAA!!!

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
of course it could have been different, playing at 2-2 is completely different than 2-1 or 3-1^^ no way!
Without this Goal, the Game would have ended differently...sounds somehow known to the English fans now?
You have heard it from us since half a century already, next half Century is all yours guys.
BTW, does anybody have scans/links to actual English Yellow press "articles"? Would like to see their "approach" on it lol.
Germany were the better team, it's just unfortunate this is even a discussion on so many of these matches with bad calls... Ger v Arg will be a great match, and I will be pulling for Germany!Leave a comment:

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
I could never see why we were being talked about as tournament favourites. What was this based on? Qualifying from an easy group and scoring the most goals? Pfft. Spain spanked us in a friendly.. that said it all for me. Overrated under achievers !
The second goal we scored could have changed the game even though Germany were far the better team. If any team looses a 2 goal lead it is bound to affect their nerve. We'll never know though.
For all the none believers, the 66 goal was in too
based on the media wanting to build up a team and then rip it to bits as soon as possible.. we always hope, but we always know in our hearts we have a long long way to go before we can truly have a chance to win a major trophy.. watching Holland and Brazil today, jesus, they are head and shoulders above us and most of the teams left.. besides Spain, they're last match they looked great.. and talk about no shows, Torres isn't doing a whole lot either
Rooney is a great player, he was double and triple teamed every time he was on the ball, but he can't do it on his own, he had fuck all for service due to our very average mid field, unfortunately, besides getting in on the defensive duties he isn't the same type of player as Messi who can take over a match and contribute in other ways, who though he hasn't scored he has had a massive impact on every match.. still will NOT root for Argentina lolLeave a comment:

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
Here you can see CLEARLY the ball wasn't in.
Wembley reloaded FTW!
Was asked ourselves the same question yesterday. My mates and I would have prefered to win the Game without this Referee bullshit - be it alone to avoid the discussions about what could have happened. I seriously doubt a 2:2 would have changed things dramatically. Germany was just the better team yesterday. Period. Not saying Germany is better than England but yesterday we were - from defense to offense. Germany has controlled the Game besides the 15 minutes phase from England in the beginning of the 2nd half. Winning against England is always odd....of course I do not want us to be beaten but I also like to see the English team playing and I know they can do much more than they showed yesterday, though I thought it was their best appearance in this Tournament.
Now I am waiting for the next mini-final against Argentina.
We'll see what our team can do against a technically top notch team and after the Game against England, I am not afraid at all anymore. We have the abilities to win this but even if we loose, we can leave without regrets.
